HELL'S GATE NATIONAL PARK

This is one of the two parks in Kenya where you can interact with wildlife (herbivores) while walking, horse riding, or cycling. Its famous attractions are the gauges where you will enjoy nature trails and hiking. You will be amused by how your voice is echoed by Fischer's and Central towers.

Hell's Gate got its name from two European explorers, Fischer and Thompson, in 1883 who described navigation of the cracks in the gauges as hell; not many would manage to go through the openings to the interior hence the name Hell's Gate. The local Maasai argue that when Mount Longonot erupted, their kinsmen were buried there. To them, that site is comparable to hell.
